“I pray for all in need and read and from time to time connect with the internet. In the XLRI Jesuit residence all rooms are connected with internet. I use a laptop and I have borrowed a keyboard, which is more convenient than the keyboard of the laptop itself,” he added. Broadband internet has still not reached the De Nobili FRI. Jesuits are still dependent on the state-run BSNL dialup facility. It takes hours to connect.
Fr Hess was still in Jamshedpur when the 2nd edition of DNS Film Festival was organised on September 22-23. In response to this writer’s proposal on a De Nobili community radio, he said through mail on September 27, “A fine idea. Were I younger and with more energy, I would be personally interested in moving this. I wonder whether there are any on the staff who would be interested. It is very likely that some students would be highly interested.”
He applauded the DeNobili.edu.in team on the success of the film fest. “Congratulations again on the film appreciation. Keep up your own interest in projects at DNS,” Fr Hess said.
