Urgent Funds required for new school

The recession in the market seem to have hit the new DNS project. Funds from a major industrial house have been lost due to the volatile economic situation. It would really helpful if some generous Nobilians would come forward and help. "There might be some good souls. Lets pray and hope for the best," said Fr Principal.

George Hess Fr George Hess SJ is suffering from Jaundice and undergoing a treatment in Jamshedpur.

“I came to Jamshedpur just in time. I have jaundice. Painful. Four weeks treatment is planned,” he mentioned in his mail to Rajat Bhatia, a senior Nobilian on September 11.

When DeNobili.edu.in got in touch with Fr Hess through gtalk on September 12, he said, “The 24 hour pain has subsided. Jaundice is not a pleasant experience”

Four days later, when enquired about his health, he said, “Improving, I think. No appetite yet. Eating is a necessity but an unwelcome one.”

Mrs Claramma BenedictAfter 31 long years of service to the school,  has decided to move to Kottayam her home town in Kerala, accompanying her husband – Mr Thomas Benedict, who retired last year.

Although she is still short of 10 months before her retirement in 2008, she feels that "it is time to move on." During a short gathering organized on 26th September in the library, by the staff club, Mrs Benedict said that she could not forget the years spent in Dhanbad for many reasons.

A: Let the rating be done by others.  I had my highs and lows. When you do our good job, you are bound to get criticisms.  Remember that stones are thrown at those trees that bear the sweetest mangoes! I am happy that I had an opportunity to serve this great institution. I will be happy to be back again, if Fr. Provincial appoints me.

Bernard PandeyMr Bernard Pandey, is the first alumnus to have been appointed the Vice Principal. Son of the legendary Sanskrit and Hindi teacher, Mr RN Pandey and Mrs Teresa Pandey, Bernard Pandey sir (as he is popularly known as) was born in a small village near Ranchi on September 13th, 1950. He has been an excellent English teacher for 33 years and probably the most popular for his legedary wit. In an interaction with fresh graduates – Snehasis Biswas, Proloy Ghosh and Kaustav Roy, he speaks about his childhood, teaching life and his vision for his alma mater.
