Carmel School, Dhanbad won the first Fr McFarland Film Critic Award for best participating school at the third DNS Film Festival and Film Appreciation Workshop. The school had the maximum participation in reveiw competitions held after the screening of each film. The festival began with the screening of the US president elect Barak Obama's victory speech. The first film screening -- Kudha Ke Liye was followed by group discussion on 'Does Media potray the realities of our times?'
Next came BBC audio production -- Beethovan lives upstairs. Interested participants took part in reviewing the radio feature. Other films screened the reviewed included Ladri di biciclette, To Kill a Mockingbird, Horton Hears a Who! and Dreaming Lhasa. The festival closed with the prize distribution and screening of the finale film -- Baraka.
