Carmel School, Dhanbad won the first Fr McFarland Film Critic Award for best participating school at the third DNS Film Festival and Film Appreciation Workshop. The school had the maximum participation in reveiw competitions held after the screening of each film. The festival began with the screening of the US president elect Barak Obama's victory speech. The first film screening -- Kudha Ke Liye was followed by group discussion on 'Does Media potray the realities of our times?'

• Seven critically acclaimed feature films from four countries • Around 200 selected students from 10 leading schools of Dhanbad • Two days of non-stops films and reviews • Dual theme - Terrorism and Global Warming The third edition of the DNS Film Festival and Film Appreciation Workshop will be organised on November 15 & 16, 2008 at Fr McFarland Auditorium of De Nobili School, FRI, Dhanbad. Around 200 students from 10 leading schools of the district are expected to participate. Terrorism and Global Warming are the dual themes of the festival, keeping in mind the challenges of the modern world.
