Gift a school to the next generation

A new De Nobili School is planned, and is being executed. Fifteen acres of land have been purchased north of Dhanbad town on the Herak road. This is close to the projected Dhanbad Ring Road and near to developments planned by BCCL and individuals and companies from Jharia. De Nobili School Main will not be abandoned but will continue to grow. Major growth is now occurring north of Dhanbad town. The De Nobili branch schools will remain and be strengthened by a Jesuit administered and taught new school.

We invite you to take part in this to show your appreciation of what you received and of what De Nobili can contribute to the new generation.

The initial cost, including land will be Rs 2.5 crore, the total Rs 5 crore upwards. A major share in this has been offered by an alumnus, Anurag Dixit, who credits his success in life to the 12 years that he spent as a student here. There is need for many alumni to participate in this project to show appreciation and to ensure for the local youth, boys and girls, that outstanding education and character formation will be given to them.

There are many other, and good, schools in the area. De Nobili is still regarded as a leader. The names of donors will be commemorated in a striking and attractive manner in the entrance of the new school. Donations in any size will be welcomed and commemorated. For the size of the project, and to match the generosity of offers already received, large amounts are especially suggested. As I once suggested in a fund raising talk, “If you have doubts about the amount that you can afford to give, double it”. Some did.

For those of my time as Principal, and of later times, I assure my personal attention to each gift and to its use in the project.
