DIG Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha rescued 60 government officials held hostage by militants in Srinagar after a hand-to-hand combat

This is something that all Nobilians can be justifiably proud of.
Sanjiv Ranjan Ojha was my classmate at De Nobili School from 1975 to 1980 (ICSE) and we sat next to each other.
After leaving De Nobili School, he studied English Honours at the Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi and competed successfully in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Exams in the 1980s. He was appointed by the President of India into the Indian Police Service (IPS) Himachal Pradesh cadre.
One of the most honest, humble and decent person I have ever met in my life. It is a matter of great honor for De Nobili School, that Sanjiv Ranjan Ojha has also been blessed with enormous courage to take on the world's most dangerous terrorists from the Lakshr-e-Toiba hands on.
Unassuming as ever, Sanjiv never told me about this terrorist attack and his role in repulsing it. I learnt about this from his wife and subsequently from my younger brother.
Sanjiv Ranjan Ojha's courage and bravery is a tribute to De Nobili School and to the qualities that Father Hess, his fellow Jesuits and our teachers instilled in us from a young age. I salute my brave friend.
